PICK: Anaheim +110
The Ducks Corey Perry finished the regular season short with 29 goals and 25 assists before an injury to his leg during a March 6th game against Colorado. It’s been painful to sit and watch his team go down 2-0. But they got a breath of fresh air with an impressive 4-2 victory in Game 3 on Tuesday night, when they scored three goals on only four shots in the first 14 1/2 minutes. Todd Marchant, Ryan Getzlaf and Chris Pronger (2) were the scorers on the night. The first two games they could only muster up two goals on Jean-Sebastien Giguere, the four goals last game is a promising sight for a team that averaged a 27th ranked 2.40 GAG. Defenseman Chris Pronger was pretty silent the first two games, but has since woken up and started scoring and hitting. The Ducks are well known for their style of tough aggressive hockey that saw them win it all last year. If they play with desperation and grit they can head home tonight with the series tied at two apiece.
The Stars are rollin along nicely except for the loss last game. They weren’t expected to go up 2-0 the first two games in Anaheim, but they did. Goalie Marty Turco has been great, going 2-1 with a 2.02 GAA and a shutout. Turco is a goalie who likes to handle the puck; he’s like a sixth player out there on the ice. Brendan Morrow leads the Stars with three goals and Mike Robeiro is the man you want on the ice as he has assisted on six goals. Nine different players have points. The Stars power play has been deadly scoring eight goals in three games or 20 tries. Their penalty kill has allowed three goals in three games or 13 kills.
