Over/Under: 5
Pick: Over 5, Senators +200
NHL Playoff betting at BetUS.com
Sportsbook oddsmakers currently have the Penguins listed as 240-moneyline favorites versus the Senators, while the game's total is sitting at 5. The Sens were in the Stanley Cup finals last year and now they are a +200 betting underdog. Yes the Sens will probalby lose this series but as a NHL online bettor I can not resist bettin on this game. The safer bet to make is the Over as the the Over is 10-3 in the Penguins last 13 games playing on 1 days rest.
Despite the first game the Sens are still 8-2 in the last 10 meetings in Pittsburgh and are 6-2 in the last 8 meetings head to head. They still ave one of the most potent lines in the Eastern Confernce with Dany Heatley, Jason Spezza, and Cory Stillman. They also have a a great defensvie lineup in Chris Phillips, Andrej Meszaros, Mike Commodore and Wade Redden who can all score from the blue line.
The Penguins have of course have last years NHL MVP Sidney Crosby but also have possibily this years 2008 NHL MVP in Evgeni Malkin, the aging verteran in Gary Roberts, Marian Hossa, Petr Sykora, and Jordan Staal. The defense core has Sergei Gonchar as one of th ebrst D Men in the meague.
Bottom Line: As a NHL bettor there is too much offense to pass up and I like the Senators at +200 for a great betting return.
