GAME: Anaheim Ducks (41-25-1-7) at Dallas Stars (42-27-3-2)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, March 19 - 8:30 PM EST
LINE: SBG Global TOTAL: 5
PICK: Anaheim
Anaheim sits in fourth place in the Western Conference; leads Dallas by one point and is trying to catch Pacific-leading San Jose. The Ducks have seven wins in their last ten games after they recently beat St.Louis 5-2 at home. The Ducks got a pair of timely goals from Rob Niedermayer, and Schneider did a nice job filling in for Pronger as point man on the power play. Schneider had a goal and two assists, one of them on Teemu Selanne's power-play goal. They’ve averaged 2.80 GAG in their last five and their power play has goals in each of their last two games. Goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere has three wins in his last five starts for a 1.40 GAA. Chris Pronger has begun his suspension and he’ll sorely be missed, he has 12 goals and 43pts in 71 games. The Ducks defense has allowed two goals on their penalty kill in five games or 23 kills. They are 16-17-0-4 away from home.
The Stars, 5-1-0 versus the Ducks this season, seem to have a good chance to end their slump and jump back into second place in the division, especially with Pronger sidelined. The Stars have just five wins in their last ten games after their most recent 3-4 loss to Vancouver. They’ve averaged 2.20 GAG in their last five games and their power play has a goal in each of their last two games. On defense they given up 2.80 GAG in their last five, but goalie Marty Turco is usually solid and he’s like a sixth player out there with his stick handling capabilities. Their penalty kill has allowed a goal in each of their last two games. The Stars are 22-13-1-1 at home. Dallas leads the Ducks 6-1 SU in the last seven meetings.
Recent Trends
The Bottom Line: Even without Pronger the Ducks are much more aggressive and offensive orientated, not to mention defense. The Stars are slumping at the wrong time. Get your NHL Bet in now at SBG Global.com
