Since the NHL’s Winter Classic the Penguins have been on a tear even without their superstar Sidney Crosby. The team is gelling with Evgeni Malkin and Jordan Staal taking up he slack for the injured Sidney Crosby. After the Winter Classic the Penguins were on a tear and moved into second place in the Atlantic Division right behind the New Jersey Devils but in their last 10 games they have been average with a 5-4-1 record.

The team is stating to feel the strain of Crosby’s injury and look tired and worn out and Ty Conklin is starting to feel the pressure and is not as sharp as he was earlier in the season.

The Sabres went on a slump after the Winter Classic but in their last ten games they have raised their game with a 7-1-2 record. Instead of the run and gun style of jhocket last year Buffalo has had to revamp their hockey system to a more defensive style of play. Derek Roy and Tim Connolly have picked up the slack form the departed free agents Daniel Briere and Chris Drury and the defense has played exceptional with Jaroslav Spacek and Brian Campbell leading the defense shutdown.

Betting Wise: Head to head the Under record is 14-3-3 in the last 20 meetings in Buffalo. Pittsburgh has gone Under in their last game games and Buffalo has also gone under against the books in their last five games. The trend should continue in this game as the Sabers will tires after their game with Rangers.

Both teams are injured and can not score of late. The Under trend continues
