GAME: New York Rangers (30-24-3-4) at Montreal Canadiens (32-19-4-5)
DATE/TIME: Tuesday, February 19 - 7:30 PM EST
Tonight’s game has two teams that have raced to the top of their divisions after riding a brief slump. The Canadiens will be looking for their fourth win in a row, while the Rangers got back to back home wins over the weekend.
The Habs have been using their goalie Carey Price in net lately and it’s starting to pay off. He is 3-1-0 w
The Rangers were sitting in 9th place, in their Conference, earlier in the week and they now find themselves six points out of 1st place. Goalie Henrik Lundqvist improved to 2-0 since signing a six-year extension, making 29 saves. Lundqvist also had 29 saves in a relatively easy 5-1 rout of Buffalo on Saturday. Scott Gomez leads the Rangers with 57pts and Chris Drury is top goal scorer with 19 goals. The Rangers are 11-11-3-4 on the road where they struggle to make two goals a game.
Bottom Line: The Rangers haven’t swept the Habs since the 2001-02 season and I don’t think they’ll be doing it this time.
