Detroit Red Wings
Hockey town USA reigns atop the list of who is the best team in the NHL. The Red Wings are are led by Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk up front and have a core of grinders and checkers like Daniel Cleary, Dallas Drake, Kris Draper and Kirk Maltby.
On defense, the Wings are led by Nicklas Lidstrom and Chris Chelios. Chelios is 46 and still plays like a 20 year old. In the backend the Wings are solid with Dominik Hasek and Chris Osgood.
Right now the Wings are head and tails the class of the NHL.
Ottawa Senators
The Senators started the season on fire but have cooled down. Their top three players Daniel Alfredsson, Dany Heatley, and Jason Spezza are among the best.
By the time the playoff come, the Senators will be injury free and looking to make a run for the cup. Now that the team has overcome their prior playoff defeats they now know how to win in the playoffs; which is key.
Philadelphia Flyers
Free agent signings Daniel Briere, Joffrey Lupul and Scott Hartnell are starting to play within the system. R.J. Umberger and Mike Richards are now playing to their potential. The return of Simon Gagne back from injury makes them a formidable force.
Antero Niittymaki seems to be the real thing.and their defense still has some issues.
